LIFESAVING VR

Training Organisations around the world are looking into ways to tackle the issues so training is more realistic ,  many are exploring simulation technology such as VR which presents a powerful tool for CPR / first aid training. With a study done by the American Heart Association on CPR using VR, bystander response was significantly increased  with the addition of VR training.

This project will bridge the gap between services being offered by the public entities and 2 NGOs, resulting in enhancing the human capital and resources  and increase the Police standards, quality and effectiveness of their first aid infrastructure.

The equipment acquired will be used during the courses being offered.  Participants will  be using the latest Technology to provide a unique experience, simulating real word  for people that will undergo first aid training. Our  aim to enhance existing training by immersing course participants in a realistic emergency  scenarios, therefore reducing the barrier to performing life-saving  first aid  when presented with a real-world emergency.

The main outputs of the project are:

• Purchase of Vr sets, software and ancillary equipment
• Training of volunteers  and instructors on the use of this equipment
•Instructors will then Implement VR in first aid training.

This project is being funded by the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) supported by the Ministry for Inclusion, Voluntary Organisations and Consumer Rights (MIVC).
